That's all I had to say, and you knew you who I was talking about. ;-)

What's he up to? After a quick stint on the Oldies 103.3 morning show with Karen Blake, he is doing a 1PM to 3PM show on WTPL "The Pulse" in New Hampshire. (I assume he is doing it from home?)

You can listen live online. Anyone hear it yet? Comments?

Federal funding for public broadcasting?

Alex Beam recently weighed in on the subject of federal funding non-comm broadcasting in the US, and it's affect in Boston

A public debate: Local stations WBUR and WGBH might actually be better off if the government withdraws funding

First, WBUR. The radio station receives $1.3 million in CPB funding, toward a total budget of around $21 million. That is about 6 percent. “That’s modest compared to the overall operation,’’ says newly appointed general manger Charles Kravetz.

Modest? Apparently it's enough to pay for WBUR's recent billboard campaign and their recently television advertisements.

There was a recent story about the tax credit we give to have movies made in Boston, and apparently the money from the tax credits simply goes to the monster stars salaries.

I can't help but think it's strange that CPB gives WBUR $1.3 million, at the same time they have extra money to spend on things like a billboard and television campaign.
