The Christmas Season has begun......?

The Christmas Season kicked off today the day after Christmas....but two stations have already been playing wall to wall Christmas Music for 10 days.
Although it's my understanding that station that flip to all Christmas do well....ther reaction seems to be mixed.

Howie Carr returns Fri Nov 16

Howie Carr is coming back to WRKO (and his "network") after all, starting Friday, Nov. 16, according to Entercom and the Herald's Messenger Blog. He will return to his afternoon slot (3-7 pm) on WRKO
and affiliates in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and elsewhere in the Bay
State. (WCRN in Worcester dropped him but it's unclear whether or not they
would pick him up again.)
“We are thrilled that Howie is back on WRKO,” said Entercom New England Vice President and Market Manager Julie Kahn in a press release. “Howie is a one-of-a-kind talent, and I’m sure all of Howie’s listeners are looking forward to hearing him on our air again.”
The Herald's article has quotes from Howie and from Greater Media about this
four-month saga.

The 45 Days Of Christmas
--
Get ready for an all-Yule feel to WODS FM 103.3 and WROR FM 105.7,
both of which switched to all "holiday"/Christmas music today.
As Stan Freberg once pointed out, "Chri$tma$ has 2 S's in it,
and they're both dollar signs." High listenership (despite the
loss of some who feel it's too early!), high ratings, high ad
billings. Ho-ho-ho.

Will a Humiliated Howie return to WRKO?

SaveWRKO quotes a piece in
All Access' Net News saying that according to a reliable source, Howie Carr
is giving up his attempt to go to WTKK and will return "soon" to WRKO.
"CARR has been trying to make the jump despite the court ruling that upheld ENTERCOM's matching of GREATER MEDIA's multi-year contract offer, but ALL ACCESS sources say to expect CARR back on the air with WRKO shortly and for WTKK to move on."
