Deal could keep WCRB classical
Station likely to get new home on the dial
"If all goes as planned, local classical music fans will be able to keep listening to their favorite radio programming on WCRB-FM. But instead of tuning into 102.5 as they now do, they'll turn to another frequency on the FM dial, 99.5."

WCAP Lowell celebrates 55 years!
WCAP in Lowell recently celebrated it's 55th birthday on the air, with a little ice cream and an on-air shindig.
In an age where more and more local radio stations are abandoning their local public service roots, the ownership of WCAP has done a tremendous job keeping it as live and local as possible.
There was a nice article in the Lowell sun by Dennis Shaughnessey....however, it has dissappeared from their web site. (Does the Lowell Sun yank stuff off the web regularly?)
The WCAP Blog has a few lines written about it.

RIP: Austin of Boston
Austin did stops at and WROR aand WSRS in Worcester ....and had been doing a sting at WWBB in Providence. He is probably most known for his time at Oldies 103, where he did both drive-time shifts.
From the Metrowest Daily News (Framingham)
ASHLAND -- Malcolm Davis Soll, 56, of Ashland (Austin Davis), died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. He was the husband of Grace (Mastroianni) Soll for 32 years.
Radio and Records has the story....here.
The funeral home has a nice page about Austin....here.
Arrangements, which are incomplete, are under the direction of Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
The Metrowest Daily News has this very brief obit.
